Een portret van de wreedheid en de uitputtingsslag in oorlogstijd. Een dorpje in het bezette deel van de Sovjet Unie in 1943 vormt het decor van de chaos die een Hongaarse legerofficier moet proberen te controleren. Gebaseerd op de roman Természetes fény van Pál Závada.
